My Life & Thoughts is the digital evolution of a lifelong habit. For years, my thoughts, ideas, and daily reflections were captured within the quiet pages of paper notebooks. It was my ultimate creative outlet. This blog is the modern extension of those journals—a dedicated space where I open up my mind and share my personal journey with the world. Instead of keeping these experiences locked away, I wanted to build a bridge to others who share the exact same passions that keep me inspired every day.

I write openly about the joys and challenges of family and fatherhood, the thrill of travel, the rhythm of music, and the fascinating depths of science and history. You will also find practical insights into personal finance, as well as my ongoing commitment to fitness and health. Who is Mark Jerome Mutuc?

I am a husband, a father to two beautiful children, and a writer in my 30s who has turned a passion for words into a way of life. Born and raised in the Philippines, I grew up under the loving care of my grandparents, Lola Iska and Lolo Juan, in the city of Taguig, Metro Manila.

By nature, I am an introvert with an extrovert’s mind—quietly observant, but constantly buzzing with big ideas. My professional journey began in the BPO industry, where I spent nearly eight years grinding from 2010 to 2017. Ready for a shift in perspective, my wife and I made a leap of faith into full-time freelancing.

Today, I am blessed to earn a living entirely online through my network of blogs, affiliate marketing, and social media content.

Faith, Family, and Everyday Passions

At the very core of my life is my family and my faith as a Christian who believes in the Holy Bible. My wife, Rachel and I tied the knot in 2016, and we made the conscious choice to work from home so we could be fully hands-on parents. Our home is anchored by our two incredible kids: our daughter, Gabby, a sharp and brilliant girl who loves playing her Nintendo Switch, and our son, Yuan, who is the constant source of laughter and pure joy in our household.

Being present for them every single day is our true definition of peace. When I am not writing or parenting, you will likely find me diving into my eclectic mix of hobbies. I’m a guitarist at heart (having played lead for a band back in 2012), an avid traveler who has explored over 30 Philippine provinces and parts of Taiwan, and a photography enthusiast who loves documenting the world. I also love feeding my curiosity by watching creators like Johnny Harris, Drew Binsky, Sonny from Best Ever Food Review Show, and Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk.

A Balanced Approach to Finance and Health

Because I believe in building a secure future for my family, I am an active investor. I manage a diverse portfolio that includes Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) shares, ETFs, digital gold, crypto, and high-yielding savings accounts.

However, my perspective on wealth and life took a profound turn in 2026 when I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). This diagnosis opened my eyes to a completely new way of living. It taught me to listen intently to my body, step away from the fast food, and nourish myself with a green, wholesome diet. Today, physical health is just as important to me as financial health, and I dedicate 30 minutes to an hour every other day to working out and staying strong.

My Digital Projects & "The Mutucs"

Beyond this personal journal, my passion for storytelling has led me to create and co-found several digital communities over the years. I am the creator behind the blogs It's More Fun With JUAN and Kain Tayo MNL, where I dive into travel and the vibrant local food scene. Deeply rooted in my hometown origins, I also co-founded Taga Pasig Kami in 2016 and Taguigeño in 2017—two thriving community pages dedicated to celebrating the culture, news, and people of Pasig and Taguig.

It's More Fun With JUAN

While these projects hold a special place in my heart, my creative focus has naturally evolved alongside my family. Today, I pour my energy and love into creating content for our family's YouTube channel, "The Mutucs," where we document our daily adventures, travel experiences, and the beautiful chaos of our hands-on parenting journey.

Ultimately, I am a man who is incredibly happy, content, and deeply grateful for the life I have built. I face the future with open arms, excited for whatever tomorrow brings.
